The Circle



The world we long for is a real-time experience that is already available to us. We access this experience by opening an interactive space that reminds us who we really are, holds us to our common intention, and honors our diversity, commonality, and contribution. This space is circle.

The circle, or council, is an ancient form of meeting that has gathered human beings into respectful conversation for thousands of years. The circle has served as the foundation for many cultures.

PeerSpirit Circle Process is a highly adaptable modern methodology that calls on the structure of circle process as it has existed throughout time. Because circle is universal, it is familiar and easily learned; because circle challenges current status quo it needs to be hosted with skill.

What transforms a meeting into a circle is the willingness of people to shift from informal socializing or opinionated discussion into a receptive attitude of thoughtful speaking and deep listening and to embody and practice the structures outlined here.
