Listen to your heart and do itWritten by Kamyar Monday, 07 July 2008 00:00 Last night I got the chance to watch a documentary movie about Dubai. It was produced on 1974 by Kamran Shirdel, an Iranian documentarist. After the movie there was a Q&A session with the director. A guy who looked like a student asked him about the steps to become a good director. Kamran's answer was very close to the ideas and concepts that I am engaged with these days; learning. His answer was: Spend time with people who know how to do it, people who inspire you. Watch them and work with them. Learn through doing and learn together. When it comes to your own movie, first you have to listen to your heart, a great movie starts from your heart and connects to other hearts. Sense the subject, feel it and then follow the flow which will carry you. Just do it and you will learn it.
